Catch up

To those four people who read our blog, I'm sorry it's been so long!  I had every intention of staying on top of this bad boy, but truth be told, I got lazy.  And, I murdered two cameras in the last six months which I used as my main excuse for not posting a damn thing.  Finally, I think we might be ready to jump back into the blogging scene.

Top news... Jesse and I have a recent addition to our family!  We welcomed Maebel Monroe in February, a then 13 pound, 10 week old English Springer Spaniel!  She has become the object of our affection and we couldn't be happier!

Jesse actually surprised me with Maebel!  I was out of town for work and he swore to me that he would wait until I got back to make a final decision on a litter that had recently been moved from Bend to Vancouver.  I was bummed out all week because he said that there was no guarantee that the puppies would still be available.  When I finally returned home on Friday night, the house was suspiciously clean and Jesse was even more suspiciously out of breath.  I noticed a light on the craft room and ran to see Maebel's sweet little puppy face peering at me through the french doors.  I couldn't believe it!  I instantly melted and scooped her up into my arms.  I was crying like a schmuck and at that moment I fell in love with Jesse all over again.  He was hesitant to tell me, but Jesse actually named her.  I couldn't think of a more perfect name.

She is now 20 pounds and almost five months old.  Currently, Maebel's favorite thing to do is explore.  Our back yard is a friggen jungle, thanks to the previous owners, and she loves sniffing around and finding treasures.  In fact, she tries to bring those treasures into the house occasionally.  Unfortunately Miss Maebel needs to work on her sneakiness. She minds pretty well and Jesse and I are looking into obedience classes just to make sure we have a well behaved pup.

Here is baby Mae, 11 weeks old

And here is our big girl... 19 weeks old
